My favorite thing about Dr Barney is that she is very straightforward. Nothing is sugar coated, she is honest and she does what a doctor should do, she tells you the problem and if possible, gives you a solution. Very knowledgeable and experienced.
Dr. Barney always talks plainly and clearly making sure you understand. You are never rushed in and out time is always taken to understand the complete picture of you health and circumstances. She knows and remembers you personally. I have never had a doctor who actually cared about YOU not just your money till I started seeing her 18yrs ago
Dr. Barney's office and style are very laid back. She is very straightforward and blunt (which I like). Her office uses electronic check in tablets which is convenient and easy to use. Her receptionist is kind and welcoming. My only complaint would be that at times, it is hard to reach them via telephone, but if you have a question or concern, Dr. Barney will call you even after hours to give you information. I plan on having her office as our family physician for a very long time.
If every HCP was like Dr. Barney the world would be a better place! Like the others before me have said, you are never treated like a number. That is so rare these days!! Most docs can't get you in and out of the door fast enough. She takes her time with you on every single visit and ever makes you feel rushed. She is very thorough and not one who just tries to 'slap a bandaid on it' without figuring the underlying problem. I also love that it's a family business. Her daughter is the receptionist and is amazing. She's no only the receptionist though, she does a ton of other things including Prior Auths. PAs are everyone's worst nightmare. I once had a GIs office take TWO months to get my PA approved. Katie gets them done in 1 or days!! I don't know how she does is. Lastly, Kay is one of the few physicians who doesn't nickel and dime you and make you come in for every single little thing. When I lived in Indiana, I couldn't even get standard refills for meds I'd been on for years without the doctor making me come in and charging $100+ for the appt. we love Kay and Katie!!
Dr. Kay Barney is the best - she tells it like it is, and is open and cares about her patients. She actually takes time to speak with her patients and ask or answer questions and does NOT push them in/out of the office like cattle. Thanks Dr. Kay
